The Blue Skies Recording Studio Experience
I take groups of students into a local professional recording studio to live the dream of being a recording artist — working alongside me and a professional engineer and producer to learn how records are made, and to record a track of their own.
How the day works
A real session, from soundcheck to finished track
No pretend setups and no backing tracks — this is the same room, the same desk and the same process professional artists use.
Meet the band
Students arrive as a group, set up their gear in a real live room and soundcheck together — just like a professional session.
Learn the process
Our professional engineer and producer walks everyone through microphones, headphone mixes, takes, overdubs and how a record actually gets built.
Record the track
The band lays down a full track — guitars, bass, drums and vocals — with coaching from me in the room throughout the day.
Take it home
The session is mixed and everyone gets a finished recording to share with family and friends. A memory (and a track) that lasts.
